Run PostLoop with Docker
1 min read
Run PostLoop on your own server with Docker. You'll need one machine, Docker, and a domain with HTTPS in front.
On this page
Set it up
- 1Get the code, and copy .env.example to .env.
- 2Fill in .env: your public address, the database passwords, the secrets and your mail settings. Each line says how to make its secret.
- 3Run docker compose up -d --build.
- 4Put a reverse proxy with HTTPS in front of port 8787, and point your domain at it.
- 5Open your address and create the first account.
PostLoop is running. Connect your first channel.
Update PostLoop
Pull the latest code and run docker compose up -d --build again. The database is updated automatically every time it starts.
Good to know: Keep POSTLOOP_MASTER_KEYS somewhere safe and separate. It encrypts every connected account's sign-in; lose it and every channel must be reconnected.
